From a PDF pile to a guide you can hear
Six caregiving publications → one bilingual, read-aloud, age-friendly web guide. It started as something we built for a family member.
The challenge
Dementia-care knowledge sat across six English-only PDF publications. For the people who need them most — older family caregivers — they were nearly unusable: tiny type, no Chinese, nothing to listen to, endless pinch-zooming on a phone. Printed, they became a stack too thick to search.
What we built
We parsed the PDFs into structured sections and rebuilt them as a fully static web guide: one-tap EN/ZH switching, read-aloud for the whole guide or any section, adjustable speech rate, a high-contrast mode, font scaling, and a print layout when paper is still needed. No backend, no account — open and use.
Accessibility toolkit
Whole guide or per-section, with pause / resume / stop

One-tap high-contrast palette for low vision

Full-page EN/ZH switching with consistent terminology
Print / save back to PDF with a dedicated paper layout
Your staff handbook, compliance pack, or product manual can work like this too.
Any document that is important but unreadable deserves this rebuild.
